Our PBL League has been organizing a Fundraising Tournament for this Saturday, 12-13 for one of our own, Tori Jones, she is only 23 and recently diagnosed with Cervical Cancer. Tori also has a 2 yr old daughter.
Our Pool League is like a family of its own and has reached out to its extended family and in the past week I have seen the true meaning of the "Season of Giving." My Traveling Team, Sweetshots had our own Tournament last week, we usually use the fundraising for our own needs (travel expenses, entry fees for State/National Tournaments) however, this time we decided to donate all money raised towards this weekends Fundraiser and give to Tori as her Cause is much more necessary. Everyone else has also been extremely generous by donating items to be Raffled of High Dollar Value as well as baking goods for sale and bringing items to be sold in mini bazaar (Mom and I did our own shopping over Thanksgiving as well).
This event is truly going to be a Blessing for Tori and it's great to know that everyone can come together in the time of need without hesitation. So, even those that are not participating in the actual Pool Tournament will have plenty to keep them busy!!!
