Trick or Treat???

It's a weird feeling here at work, there are poker games being played, and beer being drank and the little ones up here in costume (kids of co-workers, not actual employees) - it is all still rather surreal to me.

With today being the final day of my work here in Texas, it has given me time to reflect on how this will be such a positive thing in my life. Although being without a job totally sucks, the good thing is that with severance and unemployment I will be able to get ready to move and be with my Husband in North Carolina! It's long over due and I'm so ready to make the new start and new life.

I know that I have my plans set on what I want to do and I just hope that all of my fellow co-workers have just as much luck on their future plans as well!!!

Almost Done...

Tomorrow is the last day at my current job, Homecomings Financial. Due to the current economic situation and the mortgage industry as a whole, our Company is closing its doors. It will be a sad day as I have been here for 4 years and 5 months and have made many good friends.

The majority of us have joined the internet search engine linked in to keep in touch and recommend for jobs and I have been reconnected with many others from my past jobs as well. This is a great website to get your resume uploaded and information out for reference, this is my profile: http://www.linkedin.com/in/kellycassidy

I think I am just going to live off the Government for awhile and get my house prepared for move. I want to just lease out the house (anyone know of anyone needing to lease please let me know) and move as soon as we are called up on the waiting list on Post Housing.

Army Wife

I have been doing my home work on http://www.myarmylifetoo.com/ with taking E-Learning courses on Army Family Team Building (AFTB).
Basically, from learning acronyms and Army alphabet to Battlemind for Spouses. It has really given me a good insight on what is to be expected of me once I move on Base at Fort Bragg.
This has been a great learning tool for me to get in the Soldier state of mind and hopefully remind Justin of some Civilian life as well once he will be in a house on Post as well. I even get Certificates at the end of each Training to show that I have completed the course. Of course, Justin quizes me on the Alphabet so I had to print that off and keep it handy for a cheat sheet!

Wedding Nerves...

After all the chaos of the wedding planning, the day finally arrived and all the craziness disappeared. However, then the nerves kicked in!!! I was so nervous, I didn't think I would be, but man was I ever! My knees were knocking and I wanted to puke (in a good way). Thank God I had my Dad next to me walking me down to our Chanel Room, but I did ask to stop off at the Bar but we didn't. Dangit. Once we got down there my hands were sweating pretty bad, but Dad's jacket served as a good napkin. lol. Once the doors open and I heard the Wedding March I was fine, but I think that's when it hit Dad that he was fixin to give away his little girl. When Grampy (Officiant) asked "Who gives this woman away" Dad was very choked up and could barely answer due to the tears and finally got out "Her mother and I" - I had to look at him to make sure I heard him right that he was crying. It was very emotional for me at that time as I never see my big strong Dad cry.

I have to tell ya what Justin did as it is too good not to share, I had put my engagement ring on my right hand so that he could place the wedding band on my left hand. Well, apparently this confused Justin cuz he wanted to put the wedding band on the engagement ring on my right hand, I tried whispering to him "wrong hand" and then again, until I had to say it loud enough for the guests to all hear it. Don't get me wrong, I had my own issue too, when it came to my turn to repeat the vows. Who knew there were so many words to repeat??? Omg, I really tried my best to remember them all and Grampy said "Close Enough" - pretty funny.
