Rough Night

I have to share a story about last night...I had trouble sleeping I believe I was having a sort of anxiety/panic attack just due to the move across Country. I was tossing and turning and just couldn't get comfortable at all.

Next thing I knew, I felt something on the back of my neck and when I reached over, I realized that Murphy had placed his Favorite stuffed animal "Froggie" next to me. I thought it was the sweetest gesture for my dog to realize that I needed to be comforted and he was right there to share his Froggie with me!

Then, later in the night I realized that he was back to back with me just making sure that he was so close to me. He is just precious.

So, needless to say, my sweet dog will always be there to make sure that I am safe and sound. He is my friend and my protector, even if it just to make sure that I sleep good at night.
There will be many nights that it's just me and you once Justin is deployed, so I look forward to sharing Froggie. ;o)

I love you Murphy!!

Friends 4ever!

"A FRIEND IS SOMEONE WHO KNOWS THAT SONG IN YOUR HEART, AND CAN SING IT BACK TO YOU WHEN YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN THE WORDS"

A few of my good friends asked me to join them for Dinner & Drinks at On the Border for my last Friday night in TX...now how could I turn that down?? (even if we had to wait for almost 3 hours for a table out on the patio).....sure am gonna miss this girlies!!!!

Korynn, Dakota, Brittany & Kayla posing for this picture. Kayla giving her 2 thumbs up.... in true Fonzie fashion!

My good friend, Cindi, was kind enough to get me a Digital Camera for a going away present!!! How freakin cool was that? The story behind that is cuz I always ask her to bring her to every pool tournament, which she does, however, she always forgets to download the pics & send to me. I have to always get onto her.

So, now she said that I have to keep everyone updated on what's going on in NC. She also got me a memory card that holds up to 1000 pictures as well as a camera case. Needless to say, I used this camera the rest of the evening! THANKS CINDI!!!

Janet, my friend and Pool Team Mentor - she has been there thru so much with me that words cannot begin to explain. And, I cannot believe she succeeded in making ME cry?!! That's my job to make HER cry!!

As Janet told me, she feels as though she is losing a daughter, funny thing is, I am a couple of years older than she is. I think it is just because she has taught me so much in the past years with the skills of pool to running the tournaments and fundraising.

We will never lose touch, we will still see each other in Vegas at Nationals as I will be sure to come to those!!

Is it just me or does Nikki just look like she is up to something in this picture? hmmmm.....lol

My fellow Pool Players... Tammy, Janet & Patty ....along with some drinks ;o)

My friend Cherie, has been with me for the past 3 years while at my past job, until it closed down on us. I'm so glad that she drove an hour and 1/2 to come out and play with us!!! And, as we later found out, my Cousin, Steve was happy she came out as well!! hehe

Ah....Nikki...we go back many years before she was even 21. What a whirlwind of craziness!!
If you're wondering what she is doing...she is giving me a "refill" - I used to have to blow air in her ear since she was an airhead, get it? lol...gotta love her!!
After On the Border, a few of us headed on over to "Wilhoits" in Grapevine to meet up with my Cousins that were in town for work....

Say "CHEESE"....
I had bought a disposable digital camera to photo the evenings events
but Thanks to Cindi, we had 2 cameras!! ;o)

My Cousin Steve was Fascinated with this 10 gallon hat dude
so we had to have a Kodak moment with them!

Brittany (left) was wondering where all the Barak Obama shirts were (TX Cowboy Bar)and for some reason kept wanting Shamwows? We really could've used them there was some spillage.
I liked this pic of Tammy on the right and she is next to Ben, he works with my Cousins, he is also from Illinois. (They did not have their Obama shirts on either) lol

My Cousin Rob, he and I were the 2 that were the designated drivers
so we were drinking water and people watching. ;o)

My Cousin Steve with my friend, Cherie....I told him that I had hot friends
I think he likes him some TX women ;o)

These are 2 of my Cousins co-workers, actually the one on the left is Seth Aldridge who is the Boss (Aldridge Electric).
On the right, is Ben - he is my Cousin Steve's roommate when they travel.
There was another friend, Bill with them, but I didn't get a picture of him. He must've been over flirting with some other girls. ;o)
I had so much fun, but stayed out way too late - yes I am old!!! Then I had to come home and try to upload all my pics to my computer with my new camera. ;o)
I want to THANK ALL MY GIRLS for their thoughtfullness on taking me out. I will miss everyone so much!! But I will ALWAYS be here for them!!!! AND they will ALL have a new place to Vacation as I am so close to Myrtle Beach!! WOOHOO!!!
XOXOXOXO

Move Scheduled

I received a call today from Bobby Ullman, with Norco Moving & Storage - an agent of the Worldwide Transportation Van Line....Mayflower.
They will be the Movers that will be loading up my house in TX and moving me to NC. We scheduled a "survey" meeting for Monday 01-26 for him to see the items to be picked up.
On Wednesday, 01-28 they will be loading me up for good!

So, I learned a new acronym today from Bobby (Mover) and that is "PBO" - stands for "Packed By Owner" and was advised that this is not how the Army likes things to be done.

Despite what my adorable Husband advised me a few weeks ago and my mom and I spent a week and a half wrapping, boxing & taping all of my stuff up - it will ALL need to be unpacked for the Army movers to do full inventory and re-packed by them.

He was happy to hear that it is all in the garage so it is all in one room, easy for them. My question is now, can I find my receipt and get reimbursed by the Army for all of my boxes, rolls of packing tape, wrapping , etc. That right there is a couple hundred dollars!

It's hard to imagine that in just a week I will be all ready to make my journey across Country to actually begin my Married life! yay!!!

Home Phone...

I finally ordered our Change of Address Cards to be physically mailed out (above). I just loved the Military look to them! I have a feeling I'll be ordering alot of them in our lifetime. ;o)

I've been busy getting all of my local utilities scheduled to be turned off and the North Carolina ones scheduled to be turned on, it's been alot of years since I've had to do all of this, forgot what all it takes and what a hassle it is. *sigh*

Addison's Home Phone:
919.499.2972

We "officially" have been given our new Home Phone number that will be installed on Monday, 02-02. We are so excited, as we have only been using our cell phones for what seems like forever, so we now will have the option to also us the home phone!

Sanford House...

Justin took pictures of our new House and sent them to me, so here are just a few so that you can get a better feel of where we will be staying:

This is the Master Bedroom that has the full closet (hopefully room for both of our clothes)

The Master Bath has the full Vanity as well as the full Bath & Shower.

Don't worry, the wallpaper is coming down & fresh paint applied. ;o)

The Kitchen has plenty of cabinets for all of our cookware, as I have been told that I will become a Cook now? hmph.

The Dining Room is thru the Kitchen, it is small & quaint, but we don't need much more than that.

From the Dining Room you have the entrance to the Living Room as well as the stairwell to the other bedroom.

You go from the Kitchen into our Living Room area, which includes the Brick Fireplace from floor to ceiling w/mantle (I'm thinking good place for Flat Screen?).

There are French Doors to the right on this picture (not taken) that lead out onto a porch.

From the Living Room, you can go out the French Doors onto a patio. This picture is from a Screened in Carolina Porch that leads out onto the porch - where you can see these French Doors (on the left) from the Living Room. We will be able to enjoy being outside without being bit up by the mesquitos! ;o)

The Guest Bedroom along with another Full Bathroom are located upstairs.

I am on my final Countdown here in Dallas, as I am set to move to our new City in just a another week and half. I am very excited to get to Justin, however, I am getting sad knowing that I will be leaving all my friends here. It is truly starting to get to me, although I know that I have alot of new friends awaiting to meet me. ;o) Lucky them! lol

Totals...

On Saturday, we had the Garage Sale & it was FREEZING COLD outside - yes, in Dallas it was COLD - even Mom had to admit she was cold!! But Thank Goodness there were some diehard garage salers that decided to get out and shop. I couldn't handle it for too long, so shut down around 11:30 so only kept it open for a couple of hours and made a grand total of $158.35....not to shabby.

Over the past week while we were packing up the house, any change that we would find, we would just toss it into a jar. We took that Jar today to the grocery store and had the machine count the change into dollars for us to see how much we collected throughout the house....the grand total there was......$31.36....How crazy is that?!!!

I used all of this money and went and bought new dishes and glassware for Justin and I (since I sold my old stuff in the garage sale). I figure since we will be in a new place starting our new lives together we should not take our old stuff and try to get as much new as we can afford.

11 years of Packing...

It's hard to believe that I bought my house on December 7, 1998 and have been in it every since! 11 years worth of living in the same house is alot of packing up to do! *sigh*

Upon my return from Christmas "Vacation" I brought Mom back to help me with the packing process. She is now on Partial retirement so I brought her back to work for me. ;o)

We got back to Dallas about a week ago and on the 1st day back we went directly to Walmart (nice retirement for Mom, eh?). We have been so busy with packing, Mom has the organization skills down pat since she has moved so many times in the past. She had the garage packed up in no time - once my old roommate came and got her stuff - and yup a car could get in it. (not anymore) My task was my Bedroom and the Closets and I was able to collect 13 bags of clothes to give away to Charity and 2 of those bags were just shoes. The Charity came and picked up the bags so that was very convienent. I told Justin since I gave away so many bags of Clothes that I now should be able to go shopping.......isn't that how this works??!!

It's odd how the house always seems to look alot worse before it gets better, the organized chaos and tons of bags of trash that the garbage men would not pick up look awful - However, Mom always knew where everything is no matter what you are looking for!

Now we are just preparing to have Garage Sale on Saturday and hope to get rid of more stuff and not have to move more stuff with me to NC. The final details for the Army Transportation are being ironed out on Tuesday for when they will be here to load up all the boxes so I will have a date on when I will be moved....more details soon.

I cannot stress enough how much I appreciate having my Mom here during this time. I truly do not know what I would have done without her here?!!

New Years Eve...

My Aunt Karla gave all of us girls the Rachael Ray Cookbook for Christmas
This was my 2nd Cookbook that I rec'd for Christmas - Justin also got me one?!
Don't these people know I don't cook??
My idea of making dinner is making reservations!! LOL

We spent our New Year's Eve, baking cookies & "Buckeye's" (chocolate covered peanut butter balls) for Justin to take on his Journey back to Fort Bragg with him.
And, yes, that is me...I did help in the kitchen!

We did go to bed before the Ball dropped at midnight as Justin had to hit the road at 0600 on New Years Day to get back to Base. So, obviously, we were not the partiers this year.....
